Band decline chest press is a compound resistance band exercise for the chest, also working the triceps and front delts.

How to do it

  1. 1Anchor the band above head height, turn away from it and hold an end in each hand at chest level with your elbows bent.
  2. 2Step forward into a staggered stance until the band is taut, lean slightly forward and brace your stomach.
  3. 3Pull your shoulder blades back, then press your hands forward and down until they nearly meet in front of your lower chest.
  4. 4Stop just short of locking your elbows and squeeze your chest for a moment.
  5. 5Let your hands travel back to chest level under control, keeping tension in the band.
