Band side bend

Band side bend is a isolation resistance band exercise for the obliques, also working the abs.

How to do it

  1. 1Anchor a band low beside you, or stand on one end, and hold the other end in the hand nearest the anchor with your arm straight.
  2. 2Stand tall with your feet hip-width apart and your free hand on your hip.
  3. 3Bend sideways towards the band under control, letting your hand slide down the side of your leg.
  4. 4Use the obliques on the opposite side to pull yourself back up past upright, keeping your hips level and not twisting.
  5. 5Finish your reps on that side, then turn around and switch hands.
