How to do it

  1. 1Fasten the belt snugly around your hips, not your waist, and clip it to the machine’s chain or cable.
  2. 2Stand on the platform with your feet about shoulder-width apart and toes turned out slightly, holding the handles for balance.
  3. 3Stand up to take the weight off its catch, then release the stop so the load hangs from your hips.
  4. 4Squat straight down to at least parallel, keeping your chest up and your knees tracking over your toes.
  5. 5Drive through your whole foot to stand back up, and re-engage the stop when the set is done.
