How to do it

  1. 1Stand inside the hoop with your feet about shoulder-width apart, one foot slightly ahead of the other, and hold the hoop against your lower back.
  2. 2Give the hoop a firm, level push around your waist.
  3. 3Keep it turning by rocking your hips forwards and back (or side to side) in time with the hoop, rather than circling them.
  4. 4Keep your chest tall and your knees soft, and let the movement come from your middle rather than your shoulders.
  5. 5Continue for the set time, switching the direction of spin between rounds, then catch the hoop to finish.
