How to do it

  1. 1Hold the handrails and step onto the flat, lowest part of the curved belt.
  2. 2Let go and start walking; stepping forward onto the rising front of the curve is what drives the belt, so your own stride sets the pace.
  3. 3To speed up, run a little further up the front of the curve, staying tall on the balls of your feet with a slight forward lean.
  4. 4To slow down, drift back towards the lowest point and shorten your stride; with no motor, the belt only stops when you do.
  5. 5Grab the rails again and wait for the belt to stop before stepping off.
